On October 10, 2021, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang – Secretary of Da Nang City Party Committee went to Hai Van tunnel operation management center to visit and encourage the forces who supporting people in the past few days.

At the operation center, the leaders of Da Nang city observed the staff of Hai Van tunnel operation center controlling the equipment in the tunnel and monitored the motorbikes moving in the tunnel through the ITS system. The Secretary of Da Nang City acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of Deo Ca Group during this epidemic, and thanked the Group and Hai Van tunnel operation management unit for promptly coordinating with the city’s authority to help people returning home. The Secretary of Da Nang City especially thanked the Chairman of the Board of Management of Deo Ca Group for his timely directions and decisions to support people in this special situation.

In the past few days, the people going home have become more and more crowded, while the Central region is in the stormy season, it is very dangerous for people if they have to run on pass road in the dark, rainy and windy night. With the approval of the authorities, Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company has opened Hai Van tunnel, coordinated with the functional forces of Da Nang city and Thua Thien Hue province to guide motorbike groups moving through Hai Van tunnel.

Mr. Vo Ngoc Trung – Director of Hai Van tunnel operation management unit said: “The night of October 6 was a difficult night. It’s an unprecedented situation, but the tunnel management unit has carefully discussed the options with the authority  to ensure absolute safety for people. The situations have been considered with the highest preventive solutions such as air quality control, CO concentration, visibility, wind speed, volume of each group of vehicles. The rescue and medical forces have been fully arranged to timely handle all situation…”.

After listening to Hai Van tunnel management unit reported on the technical factors related to the movement of each motorbike groups through the tunnel, Secretary Nguyen Van Quang highly appreciated the proactive calculation and timely coordination of Deo Ca Group. In addition, the city leader hoped that in the coming time, Deo Ca would cooperate with the city to deploy some traffic infrastructure projects.

Previously, on October 8, 2021, Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee – Mr. Le Trung Chinh has visited and encouraged officials who were on the task of supporting people returning home by motorbike through Hai Van tunnel and acknowledge the positive contributions of Deo Ca.

As noted by the tunnel operator, from October 6 to October 10, Hai Van tunnel management unit coordinated with Da Nang city authorities to support more than 3,000 vehicle turns and about 5,500 people passing through the tunnel.
