On the afternoon of November 12, the “Relay to school” scholarship was awarded to 302 new students and disadvantaged students of Phu Yen province.
This is the first “Relay to school” scholarship awarding ceremony in 2021 with the theme “Together with Youth overcome COVID to the lecture hall”. At the ceremony, 97 new students of Phu Yen with difficult circumstances who just passed into universities and colleges across the country were awarded scholarships “Relay to school”, including 10 special scholarships worth 15 million VND/ scholarship; 87 scholarships worth 10 million VND/scholarship.

The organizers also awarded 95 scholarships to secondary school students (3 million VND each), and 110 scholarships to high school students (5 million VND each).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le The Chu – Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper – shared that “The scholarship “Relay to school” was previously only awarded to new college students, but in the very special context of this year, the raging COVID-19 pandemic, continuous rains and floods… seriously affected the lives of many families, the Organizing Committee decided to award more disadvantaged students, including more than 400 scholarships for orphans in Ho Chi Minh City”.
The total funding of the scholarship awarding “Relay to school” in Phu Yen is more than 1.9 billion VND, sponsored by the “Phu Yen Gratitude” Club.
Mr. Ho Minh Hoang – Chairman of Deo Ca Group, Chairman of the Club “Phu Yen Gratitude”, stated that: “Everyone has special circumstances and sometimes has difficulties”, so when Tuoi Tre newspaper proposed to accompany the “Relay to School” scholarship in 2021, he immediately agreed.
“I not only accompany this program of Tuoi Tre for a year, but also decide to accompany it for the next 10 years, 2 billion VND per year. We will never leave anyone in difficulty and will always accompany and help students. We hope that you will study hard so that in the future you can do many things to help your family and society, and together contribute to building the homeland and the country” Mr. Hoang said.

According to the plan, after the program in Phu Yen, the “Relay to school” scholarship will come to new students in the Central region, Central Highlands, Southeast, Mekong Delta, provinces in the North and North Central. About 1,000 scholarships with a total value of more than 11 billion VND will be awarded this year.
