“Bep am Deo Ca” contest

This is a playground for female employees at Da Nang—Hue units. The competition showcases cooking and flower-arranging talents, with six participating teams. The company, listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) as  bet365ee , said this year’s revenue is expected to hit VND2.56 trillion ($105.2 million), an increase of 22%.

The business results are better than expected as its build-operate-transfer (BOT) projects have seen vehicle traffic growing again post the pandemic, resulting in increased toll revenue compared to 2022.  bet365ee  has also implemented a series of large projects using public investment.

In 2023, amid a rising wave of public investment,  bet365ee  has continuously won bids for high-value projects such as Quang Ngai-Hoai Nhon Expressway, a project to upgrade and expand Prenn Pass in Lam Dong province, Binh Dinh coastal road, and a coastal road connecting to Lien Chieu port in Da Nang city.

At an investment promotion program in early November, an  bet365ee  leader noted that the government’s determination to complete 5,000 kilometers of expressways by 2030 and preparations for the construction of the North-South high-speed railway bring great prospects to transport infrastructure developers like  bet365ee .

“The country has put into operation more than 1,800 kilometers of expressways. This is a great chance for  bet365ee  to engage in investment, construction, management and operation of the expressway network,�?he said.

In the 2023-2025 period,  bet365ee  proposes to invest in developing nearly 400 kilometers of expressways, including the Dong Dang-Tra Linh Expressway connecting Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces, Huu Nghi-Chi Lang Expressway in Lang Son province, Tan Phu-Bao Loc Expressway in Lam Dong province, and Ho Chi Minh City-Chon Thanh Expressway’s section through Binh Duong province with a total investment of about VND100 trillion ($4.1 billion).

bet365ee  has initially achieved its strategic goal when a consortium comprising Deo Ca Group, ICV Vietnam Investment and Construction JSC,  bet365ee  and 568 Construction JSC was selected as the investor to implement the first phase of the Dong Dang-Tra Linh Expressway under the public-private partnership (PPP) format, with a total investment capital of VND14.17 trillion ($583.63 million).

Nam, in charge of bidding at the Vietnamese group, made the statement at a press meeting on Wednesday to announce the nine-month business results of Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment JSC, a subsidiary of Deo Ca Group, known as the “king of tunnels”.

“Deo Ca is also continuing to seek cooperation opportunities with foreign businesses from Japan, South Korea, Europe countries, and others,” he told The Investor on the sidelines of the event.

Deo Ca regularly sends staff abroad to study or work as subcontractors, and is waiting for more information from the Vietnamese government to see which technologies and standards will be prioritized and applied. According to the transport infrastructure development plan, the government aims to have 5,000 km of expressways by 2030. With railway network planning, there will be 25 routes with a length of 6,354 km by 2050.

Deo Ca Transport Infrastructure Investment JSC, listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) as bet365ee , recorded revenue of VND1.83 trillion ($74.2 million) in the first nine months of the year, an increase of 23.5% year-on-year, according to its consolidated business results. The company’s profit after tax was VND309 billion ($12.6 million), up 29%.

Its construction segment had the highest growth of 74%, reaching VND271 billion ($11 million) in revenue, accounting for 40% of the firm’s total.

Revenue from build-operate-transfer (BOT) road toll stations increased by 2%, contributing VND391 billion ($15.9 million) and accounting for 58% of total revenue.

For the whole year, bet365ee estimates consolidated revenue of VND2.51 trillion ($102 million), up 18% and exceeding the year plan by 1%. Its profit after tax is forecast at VND385 billion ($15.6 million), up 30% and exceeding the year plan by 14%.

Nguyen Quang Huy, general director of bet365ee , commented that the revenue results demonstrate the business’s ability to grow in the current difficult context.

Huy said that the business’s goal is to prepare resources to successfully implement local initiatives and to take the lead in many new industries when growing globally, especially in the context that Vietnam places special attention on national transport infrastructure development.

bet365ee has three main areas of activity, namely investment, construction, and operation management of transportation infrastructure projects.

Through many restructurings, its current charter capital is VND3 trillion ($122 million). The company officially listed shares in 2022.

Saving one more vehicle fire case is preventing another potential accident.

Specifically, at 6:02 p.m. on September 12, 2023, through the surveillance camera system, the Enterprise noticed a container truck with license plate 43C-20974 moving on the road leading to Hai Van Tunnel in the south-north direction with signs of unusual smoke coming from the back of the car. Immediately, the Firefighting and Rescue force was dispatched to the scene to check. After giving the command to stop, it was discovered that the vehicle had a fire problem at the rear of the vehicle.

The Hai Van tunnel’s firefighting and rescue force urgently reported to the Operations Center deployed a firefighting team, and mobilized fire trucks to be on duty at the southern tunnel entrance to intervene and handle the situation quickly while dividing and regulating traffic through the tunnel. By 6:07 p.m., the fire was completely extinguished, ensuring the safety of people, vehicles, goods, and construction structures.

In a quick interview at the scene, Mr Tran Quang – the container truck driver who encountered the above incident, expressed his appreciation to the Hai Van tunnel operator for promptly detecting, handling, and supporting the vehicle. “I, like many drivers, choose to go through the road tunnel because the most important thing is that we are guaranteed safety,” Mr. Quang added.

Real value through numbers

According to the report of Hai Van Tunnel Operation Management Enterprise, Hai Van tunnel has recently served about 35 million vehicles passing through the tunnel safely and smoothly. The average vehicle flow through the tunnel has reached 9,000 vehicles/day and night. Realizing the convenience and safety of moving through the tunnel, the number of vehicles circulating on the pass has now decreased to only 12%.

In particular, during the tunnel operation, the Cultural Management unit promptly handled 20 fires and explosions in the tunnel and 14 outside the tunnel, 91 traffic accidents in the tunnel and 66 outside the tunnel, minimizing damage to people and property.

To effectively meet the fire prevention and rescue work, the HLVH unit always strictly follows measures, including continuously monitoring the traffic situation in the tunnel through the iron monitoring camera system and sensors; promptly detect incidents and accidents and immediately notify the authorities; Activate the traffic warning and guidance system so that traffic participants can avoid the incident area and circulate safely; Mobilize the unit’s forces to participate in troubleshooting support, clearing traffic and helping people in distress.

Mr. Truong Huu Nghia – Deputy Director of the Enterprise, shared that ensuring fire and explosion safety for vehicles passing through the tunnel is always an issue in managing and operating transportation infrastructure projects. The subject is our top priority. Fire and explosion incidents can happen anytime, anywhere. Therefore, the tunnel operating force always focuses on coordinating with functional agencies and local authorities to handle incidents and accidents on the tunnel, staying highly focused 24/7 in a ready-to-respond attitude. Respond promptly to prevent prolonged fire and explosion incidents from causing severe consequences.

“We also periodically organize training courses to enhance knowledge and professional fire prevention and rescue skills for the Enterprise’s forces, at the same time, strengthen propaganda work for traffic participants to understand and strictly comply with regulations when traveling through Hai Van tunnel. The goal is to continuously improve the quality of management and operation of Hai Van tunnel for safety and smooth traffic through the tunnel,” said a representative of the Enterprise.

Ensuring fire and explosion safety for vehicles traveling through the Hai Van tunnel is always the top priority of the operating unit.

Besides enhancing trade, the Hai Van tunnel also helps traffic participants shorten the North-South journey, saving travel time from 45 minutes on the pass to only 6 minutes, reducing fuel consumption and vehicle damage. More importantly, it is to thoroughly resolve dangerous traffic “black spots” prone to congestion on the National Highway 1A section through Hai Van Pass, making an essential contribution to the socio-economic development of the locality and the area.
